For as long as I can remember, the passion of trucks was always in my blood.

Since I was one year old, my being was already sensitive to the noise of the engines of trucks and I was already excited to see them pass. My parents told me that they did not need to look out the window to see if the truck that was delivering the goods to us was arriving, they just had to look at me to know that the truck was here.

When I was 4, I had my baptism* of the road in a Volvo F89 drived by Mr. Aellen, carrying cheese made by my parents.
Quick note: in the early 1970s the refrigerated trucks were not realy known yet.

At school age, after school or during holidays, I was hanging out with the drivers of "Transportation Perrin Frères" near "Ponts-de-Martel" who took me to the discovery of the transportation community in Switzerland.
The region of "Ponts-de-Martel" was known for its Peat-bog and for its wood.

Quick note: On the pictures, one of the vehicles is equipped for the transportation of peat and on the other is equipped for the transport of wood. This vehicle had arrived brand new and I had the pleasure to participate in its first transport.

Being a fan, I did not fail to be interested in anything related to trucks.
My collection of photographs of trucks, as well as scale models is quite important, which proves my passion.

After finishing school, I learned to be a truck mechanic in the company "Cremo SA" in Fribourg. There, my passion for the beautiful trucks pushed me to make them small beauties, putting sometimes 2 or 3 extra lights or mudflaps under the bumper for example!

of 18, my At the age driver licence in my pocket, I began to work as a replacement driver for the transport of milk during the week-ends or the holidays. My pleasure, when driving, was so great that I was spending as much time as possible behind a wheel.

I remember that three months before my final exams, the boss of my garage forbade me to drive, so I will found the time to study, but, I must say that I was unable to resist, the fever of the steering wheel was so much stronger than the appeal of my books. Happy for me, it didn't stop me from brilliantly succeding in my final apprenticeship exams.

Having finished my studies, there was no more obstacles to keep me from achieving my dream. I was hired by the transport company "Häner" in Bâle. There, I took the wheel of a Volvo F10 working in the shipping of fruits and vegetables in Switzerland and Europe.
This made me discover the night work. Quicknote: In Switzerland only the transport of perishable goods have a waiver to drive at night.

The thing, when working at night, that had always bothered me, was sharing my truck with other drivers that will drive it during the day. At the end of my shift in the morning, I would leave the truck cleaned, only to find it dirty at nightfall.
While talking to my best friend Claude Cessel an independent driver, an idea begun to take place in my head, I should become an independent driver too.

.
After six years working as a driver and acquiring the necessary knowledge in the field of fruits and vegetables transport, I signed my first contract as an independent driver with the company "Früchtetrans AG" and created my own transport company "Stéphane Möri Kühltransporte". My first action as an independent was to aquire a Volvo F16 de 485 CV, which was my first purchase.

4 years later, the new Volvo FH arrived on the market. This truck was so beautifull that, after checking my finances, I decided to replace my Volvo F16, which had quite a few miles under his hood, with the new Volvo FH 12.420.

After six years as an independent, I decided, with the help of my father, to turn my company in a limited company and the new company took the name of "Stéphane Möri GmbH" with its headquarters in Basel.

In 1999, my Volvo FH 12.420 had quite a number of miles and the time came to consider investing in some major repairs or purchasing a new vehicle. I decided on the purchase of a Volvo FH12.460.

In 2001, with the liberalization of transport from 28 tons to 40 tons, the choice of a new trailer became obvious. I made the acquisition of a Cherreau 3 axles with side skirt prepared by Cardever SA in Belgium.

In 2003, the bew Volvo FH16.610 is announced by Volvo, and I'm back checking my finances. Not long after, I'm one of the first to order this new truck in Switzerland. Unfortunatly I had to wait until February 2004 to be delivered.
I think I bought a really great Volvo FH 16 610 with a white pearl paint and lots of lights. I had many compliments about it.

Unfortunalty in November 2005, following some serious health problems and a convalescence of six months, I was forced to put a driver on my Intelligent Power. Later, after a painfull recovery and a consultation with my doctor I had to make the difficult decision to separate myself from the road. So in 2005, after having been a driver for 20 year I had to leave the the wheel for medical reason.

I am pleased to have driven some very nice trucks and to have experienced the joy of going to work with a lot of fun. It's also true that I had moments of doubt and fatigue and also had some problem in my life.

But when you look in your rearview mirror and see the other drivers looking at your vehicle, when the sun shines or the small circles "des Wheels Alcoa on the asphalt, it will warm your heart and all your problems will disappear. It's called passion ... I wish a good road to all the drivers, I hope they find this passion and I thank everyone who helped me.

This is not a goodbye only a new chapter, rest assured my passion is still there, so send me pictures of your truck to make my site interesting.

Enjoy your visit and best regards Stéphane Möri
